It all started in sunny Gibraltar on National Day, a bank holiday where locals and visitors hit the beaches to celebrate their nation. As lovers of the coast, we did the same. But amidst the sun and the sea breeze, we found ourselves dealing with the usual beach day hassles: towels that wouldn’t stay in place, nowhere comfortable to rest our heads, and the constant need to keep an eye on our valuables.

That’s when the idea struck—why not create products that solve these small but significant problems?

A few weeks later, we came across Practi Towel®—a towel that could be pegged into the sand to stay put, came with a pillow insert for comfort, and even had a lockable pocket for valuables. It was exactly what we’d been looking for. This product ticked all the boxes, and we knew it could make a real difference for beachgoers. Soon after, Practi Towel® became part of the Drift & Dune family.

But we didn’t stop there. One of the biggest annoyances at the beach is the sand—it seems to follow you everywhere, especially inside your beach bag. So we set out to design a bag that could solve that problem.
